Install Iis Certificate - Server SSL
To secure your site with an SSL certificate you will need to import it on your IIS Server. You can do this by using the iis manager or Powershell. The certificate should be bound with a secure web port.
You must first have a valid Certificate Request (CSR) before you can install an SSL certificate. Your CSR can be created using IIS Manager, or a third part tool.

Importing the SSL Certificate

Step 3: Create the CSR
CSR (Certificate request) is required to install SSL certificates on your server. This will allow to you verify that the CA issuing a certificate has actually issued one for your domain.
Once you have generated a CSR, you can then upload the certificate to your IIS server. You can do this using the IIS manager or by using recursive command line tools such as Powershell.
If the certificate has not been installed on the server, it should appear in the "Server Certificates” section of IIS. If you don't see the certificate listed, this could be because it wasn't requested on the server, or your private key was damaged.
After generating the CSR, you should be able to see the SSL certificate in the Server Certificates list on your IIS server. If the certificate does not appear in this list, it may be that it is missing a friendly name or that it was not properly imported.
You can easily reimport the certifcate using IIS manager, or by using Rsync. It is possible to import the certificate by clicking the pfx in IIS Manager, or by Powershell.
Once the SSL certificate has been imported, you must re-bind it to your website. For re-binding, you can either select the SSL from the IIS Manager window's Bindings section or by using Powershell. You must then change the binding type to HTTPS, enter the IP of your site (or All Unassigned) and the port that will enforce the SSL (normally 443). After clicking OK, you should close the Site Bindings windows.
